Artisphere & Mother's Day

Yes, I'm retro-blogging.

I've been a big slacker lately... have bunches of photos of the star of the show that need shared.
I seem to take pictures and do a lot of "blogging" in my head,
but the sitting down-uploading-editing-typing-posting part takes a bit longer.
I'll try and do better!

Artisphere is an annual art festival here in Greenville.
We went on Mother's Day with some friends & had a great time!
Downtown is beautiful, and have I mentioned how gorgeous Spring is here??!

This shirt she has on, by the way, is full of memories. The fabric was cut out & sewn on a white t-shirt for her to wear. It was originally on one of the shirts my mom made my friend (that other little girl's mom) and I when we were kids. The photo is of part of a painting my mom did... actually, I have the painting, too... hanging in the play room. :)

A wonderful Mother's Day it was...

EASTER - a day in pictures

Labels: , , , ,

twas the day before Easter...

...and I was procrastinating as usual. To-do list:

Kalina received a package in the mail from my sister (her Aunt Raquel). As soon as she saw the box, she knew it was for her and she went about opening it.

A fluffy white bunny!

And other Easter goodies - the perfect thing to get us in the mood to decorate eggs!

We've been getting our eggs from a local farmer and they are natually gorgeous! He's got a lot of different breeds, so we get white, tan, brown, speckled, and even a blue/green!

I toyed with the idea of not decorating them because they looked so nice, but then I realized that would be equivalent to not carving a pumpkin for Halloween... and I couldn't let that happen!

I decided to let lil' bit color them as much or as little as she liked. Because I hadn't planned ahead, I just grabbed something easy that I already had - watercolors.
We went outside & got busy!!
She is a natural, no??!

She needed no help figuring out what to do.

But that only lasted so long. We were, after all, outside... which means that there are sticks to play with!

Meanwhile, I worked on my Bunny... the one I should have started a week ago. Yup.

Kalina loves hugging trees... She will go up to every tree in the park and give it a hug!
She makes her new bunny friend hug a tree.
(Joe says she was actually saying, "Ok, now give me all your eggs and no one gets hurt" LOL)
Airplane!
She finds out the eggs, once opened, are edible! YUMM!
