Legos & Stars

We've been painting again...

Our nephew (who is starting 1st grade) moved into a new room to make room for his baby sister who will be joining us soon. I had painted a mural in his brother's room a few years ago, and I would be painting in the new nursery as well, so it was his turn for some artwork on the wall!

He chose LEGO people! LEGO video games, to be exact...
(btw, aren't those the cutest BabyLegs?! I love 'em... K's been wearing BL since she was an infant. Great way to keep little legs warm on your nekkid EC baby... and they grow with ya too!)

Anyway, this guy is from LEGO batman... two-face, maybe?

And, LEGO StarWars of course... complete with glow-in-the-dark paint on the Lightsabers!
And for his ARMY dad...
And here is the girly room... for the new niece who should arrive soon!

"Twinkle twinkle little star..."

I even added some real "twinkle" - gemstones and glitter paint!

Fun stuff!

Sugar & Spice, and Everything Nice...

... or Bluebirds & Flowers, and Two-Story Playhouse Beds?

Just ran across the photo of the gorgeous bed (handmade by the dad and grandpa) that I had the pleasure to decorate for two sweet girls. The girls "babysat" K while I painted...
Doesn't it just make you want to be little again??!

More Henna

So, I've been playing in the "mud" again!
Thought I'd share some pics from the last couple months in SC.
(Just wish I'd remember to bring my camera with me more!)

Hands,

feet
arms...
The little people got some too...

And my favorite people to decorate... pregnant mommas!

I just got word that this last momma birthed her 10+ lb baby boy last night!!

Back to the Beginning

While in FL, we made a stop by a place that has been a second home for the past couple of years - the birthing home where we spent a lot of time while pregnant (and many hours in labor, as well as mommy/baby groups..)

I also did my first post-baby mural here, in the stairwell. My baby was just a few months old at that time, but it is amazing how much she now resembles the silhouette on the wall! I wish I could have gotten a photo of her standing next to the figure, but any time she stood, she was straight up the stairs faster than I could click!!

Our midwife also had a baby who we hadn't had the pleasure of meeting yet, so we were sure to stop by while the little man was there - and he is ADORABLE!!

I crocheted up a little gift for him as well...

Artisphere & Mother's Day

Yes, I'm retro-blogging.

I've been a big slacker lately... have bunches of photos of the star of the show that need shared.
I seem to take pictures and do a lot of "blogging" in my head,
but the sitting down-uploading-editing-typing-posting part takes a bit longer.
I'll try and do better!

Artisphere is an annual art festival here in Greenville.
We went on Mother's Day with some friends & had a great time!
Downtown is beautiful, and have I mentioned how gorgeous Spring is here??!

This shirt she has on, by the way, is full of memories. The fabric was cut out & sewn on a white t-shirt for her to wear. It was originally on one of the shirts my mom made my friend (that other little girl's mom) and I when we were kids. The photo is of part of a painting my mom did... actually, I have the painting, too... hanging in the play room. :)

A wonderful Mother's Day it was...

Playin in the MUD

I've been dabbling in henna lately, in the process of expanding my face painting "business", so everyone I know has some variation of orange-to-brown-stain somewhere on their body... Here's a few photos I've been able to snap. More to come, I'm sure. By the way, if you are curious about henna, here is everything you ever wanted to know & more.

And just for fun... here's my prego henna belly when I was 40+ weeks :)
